This website is deliberately minimal in what it collects. We do not offer user accounts, newsletters, or booking, and we set no advertising cookies. We use Google Analytics to understand overall site usage (see section 4). Web fonts are self-hosted, so no font requests are sent to font providers. The only data you actively submit is what you type into our studio/partnership contact form. We do not sell personal data — to anyone.

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you visit the site, Vercel automatically processes technical data necessary to deliver the pages: your IP address, date and time of the request, requested URL, browser type and operating system (user agent), and the referring page.

This processing is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating a secure, stable, and performant website. Server logs are retained only as long as technically necessary and are not merged with other data or used to identify individual visitors.

We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (USA), to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, approximate location, device type). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers and processes your IP address; Google may transfer this information to servers in the United States. IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4.

We use this data solely in aggregate form to improve the directory. You can prevent Google Analytics from running by using your browser's tracking protection, a content blocker, or Google's opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). Our studio directory content is stored with Supabase Inc. (USA). When you click “Visit Website” or a phone number on a studio page, we record an anonymous event consisting of: the studio concerned, the type of action (website or phone), a timestamp, and the page the click came from. We deliberately do not store your IP address, name, or any other identifier with these events — they are aggregate interest counts, not visitor profiles, and do not constitute personal data. We use them to show studios how much interest their listing receives.

If you contact us — by email or via the contact form on our “For Studios” page — we process the data you provide (name, email address, optionally studio name and city, and your message) solely to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract (e.g. Premium studio profiles) and otherwise our legitimate interest in answering correspondence (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Form submissions are delivered to our inbox via the email service Resend (Resend, Inc., USA) acting as our processor; the form data is transmitted for delivery and not used by Resend for its own purposes. Messages are deleted once the matter is concluded, unless statutory retention periods apply.

Studio pages link to the websites of the respective studios, and some guide articles contain affiliate links (e.g. to Amazon). When you follow such a link, you leave our website and the privacy policy of the destination site applies. Merchants such as Amazon may set cookies on their own sites to attribute purchases; we may receive a commission for qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. We receive no personal data about you from these merchants — only aggregate commission reports.

Our hosting, database, email-delivery, and analytics providers (Vercel, Supabase, Resend, Google) process data in the United States. Where personal data (such as IP addresses in server logs or contact-form details) is transferred to the US, this occurs on the basis of the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 GDPR) with the providers concerned.

We do not create visitor profiles and do not use automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15),
• rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16),
• erasure (“right to be forgotten”, Art. 17),
• restriction of processing (Art. 18),
• data portability (Art. 20),
• object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).

We do not sell or share personal information as defined by US state privacy laws (e.g. the CCPA/CPRA), and we do not use your data for cross-context behavioral advertising. The rights described above are extended to all visitors regardless of residency.

We may update this policy when the website's functionality changes (for example, if privacy-friendly analytics are added later). The current version is always available on this page, with the effective date noted above.
