Four hundred and twenty-two reviews and a perfect five stars. No yoga studio in San Diego is more loved than Modo, and it is not close.
What stands out
Modo belongs to the global Moksha network, and the ethos comes with it: an eco-built studio, a room that runs up to 40C, and a culture that reviewers describe over and over in the same words - nobody watches you, nobody judges you, everybody is welcome. The heat is real (100F typical, up to 104F) but the teaching is built to let you sit down when you need to. Free on-site parking, in a city where that alone can decide where you practise. Forty-five-minute options on the schedule for the days you cannot give it ninety.
The honest tradeoff
Prices are not published anywhere. The $45 two-week intro is the only number on the site, and after that you are negotiating in the dark - which is a strange gap for a studio otherwise so transparent about its values. The door also closes at class start with no late entry. And the community that makes this place is large enough that reviewers have started noting the small-studio feel is under strain as it grows.

Anyone who has felt watched in a yoga room. If you are nervous about your first hot class in San Diego, start here - and take the $45 intro, because it is the only price you will see before you commit.
