CorePower Yoga - Hillcrest
Hillcrest, San Diego, CA
Our review of CorePower Yoga - Hillcrest
Up a flight of stairs in an arched stucco centre on University Avenue - the Hillcrest CorePower, and the one where the reviews talk about the teachers rather than the brand.
What stands out
The teaching is the reason people stay here. Reviewers name individual instructors again and again, and describe candlelight C2 classes that converted them from never having done yoga at all. The full CorePower system applies - Hot Power Fusion, C2, Yoga Sculpt - and the $189 All Access membership works nationally. Parking is genuinely solved: two hours free in the centre, plus an underground structure beneath the supermarket, which in Hillcrest is worth naming.
The honest tradeoff
The room gets crowded, and reviewers say so plainly - mat-to-mat at peak. CorePower publishes no room temperature, so how hot 'hot' is depends on the day and the teacher. $189 a month is the most expensive in the city and the terms carry an arbitration clause and a class-action waiver. And Yoga Box is around the corner on West Washington, hotter, honestly priced by temperature, and free for three days.
Best for
Hillcrest residents who want a well-taught class and solved parking. Go off-peak if you want space around your mat.
